Con sus hojas largas y grandes la Hygrophila Guianensis se aconseja plantarla en grupos dentro de acuarios grandes. Exige bastante a la hora del tema de iluminación y prospera mejor con la adición de CO2 y cuando el fondo este rico en nutrientes. Si no se poda, crecerá rebasando con facilidad la superficie del agua y así haciéndola aconsejable para acuarios abiertos.
